Laundry Soapnut 500 gram

Organic Soap Nuts are a two-in-one laundry wash and fabric softener, leaving your laundry fresh, soft, fluffy and clean. Soap Nuts is a fruit that contains natural surfactant (Saponin) that works to remove dirt. When this dried fruit comes in contact with water, it releases natural surfactant that creates mild suds that washes your clothes and cleanses your household.

Summary

The mildness of the soap nut will keep your fabric colours bright and protect the fabric structure of your clothes for longer. Naturally hypo-allergenic and free from chemicals, soap nuts are the perfect answer for babies and people with allergies, eczema, perfume sensitivities, and sensitive skin. They are biodegradable and can be added to the compost after use (each soap nut can usually be used at least five times). It is widely recognized as an Eco-friendly alternative to synthetic detergent.

Facts

* Soap Nuts for multi-purpose cleaning spray
1 cup soap nut concentrate
1 cup apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
10 drops of your favourite essential oil.
For kitchen surfaces, I tend to use melaleuca, peppermint or lemon.

*Soap nuts for laundry
Put 5 – 8 soap nuts into a muslin cloth bag. Make sure it closes well so that the nuts don’t escape and clog the drain.
Throw them into the washing machine drum with your clothes. Remove them after the load is done.
These 5-8 soap nuts can be used 3-4 times.

*Make 1 litre of Soap Nut Concentrate:
Grab a full handful of soap nuts (you can buy them from here) and add 4 – 5 cups of water to a pot. Bring to the boil and simmer for around 20 minutes.
Let the concentrate cool (optional: steep overnight).
Drain the nuts and add them to your compost bin. Store the liquid concentrate in the fridge for when you need to use.
