Tung oil is made from the Tung Tree. It can be use as coating, provides a natural satin feel protective finish to floors and other timber extremely earth friendly, durable and easy to repair. The oil is called Tung Oil. It is usually applied to unfinished wood, but can be used over oil base stain. It is easy to use and has the ability to dry quickly and polymerize into a tough, glossy, waterproof coating. This property has made it especially valuable in paints, waterproof coatings and lustrous wood finishes.
Facts
Apply oil to a soft cloth or rag and rub thinly on the surface for a maximum of 10 minutes, and then wipe all areas clean to remove excess. Check for any pools or runs after another few minutes and wipe them dry. Drying is a slow process and will occur over 12-24 hours. You can apply up to 6 coats for super deep resistant finish, but a normal treatment is 2 or 3 coats for flooring, wall panels can be just 2 coats.
